Charred, minty black-fruit aromas include shoe polish, leather and earth notes. At first, this is plush in feel, but in no time it becomes hard as stone, with fierce tannins. Minty, oaky flavors of mixed spices and herbal blackberry are earthy and brawny on the finish, with punishing tannins. Drink 2018–2035.
