Country: Portugal / Quinta do Carmo
Variety: Portuguese Red Alentejano
Winery: Bacalhôa Wines of Portugal /
Carmo was formerly owned by the Rothschild family of Château Lafite. In this now maturing 2009 selection, there is a firm character, leavened by dried fruits, dark berries and some smooth woody characters. It’s a wine to drink now, or age for 2–3 more years.
