From vineyards on the north bank of the Douro, this is a rounded, smooth wine that has layers of black fruits and finely integrated tannins. It is bold, ripe, full of blackberry fruitiness and a perfume from the Touriga Nacional in the blend. It is drinkable now, but will be better from the end of 2016.
