Made with Sangiovese and 5% Merlot, this wine begins with typical Sangiovese aromas of tilled soil, leather, spice and ripe berries. The structured palate delivers dark cherry layered with black pepper, clove and cinnamon alongside solid tannins and fresh acidity. It’s starting to show tertiary flavors of flint and fig but will maintain well for another few years at least. Drink through 2018.
