The Alatus blend is two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Malbec and Syrah also in the mix. Dark and spicy, it remains compact and toasty, with a solid core of cassis, coffee grounds, cedar and smoke. The barrel influences (40% new) are well displayed, but the rest of the wine needs more time to catch up.
