Dry, spicy, woody, earthy berry aromas are common for Rioja. This is bouncy and full of tomato-like acidity, while favors of tobacco, reedy berry fruits and spice are a touch green in the middle. On the finish, this is rough but true to the vintage, which was notoriously cold, wet and difficult.
