The Winkler-Hermaden family’s vineyards drop precipitously down from Kapfenstein castle, which they run as a hotel. With their great exposure, the vineyards allow the Zweigelt in this wine to ripen well, giving richness and density of structure, with the rich spice and red stone fruits blanketed by dark tannins.
